Preschool Lessons

Preschool-age children are taught basic aquatic safety, survival and swimming skills, all the while increasing their comfort level in and around the water. Skills are age-appropriate, helping children achieve success on a regular basis and enjoy social interactions with other children.
Features of these classes:

cost is $22 without a Seasonal or Annual pass, or $10 with a pass (Scholarships are available by contacting the Aquatic Director)

Parent & Tot
Course Description: Enjoy this fun session filled with games and play. Your child will learn to feel comfortable in the water, and will gain basic swimming skills. Meanwhile, you'll learn some great techniques to keep your baby engaged and actively loving the pool for years to come!
Features of the course:
- for students age 6 months - 3 years, and their parents or guardians
- parents and students play and learn together
Times:
Winter Sessions: Mondays 5:30-6:00 p.m.; Six week sessions from: November 26 - January 18, January 21 - March 1, April 8 - May 17
Level 1: Tadpole
Course Description: Talk to a fish or chop down a cherry tree - Pool Style! You'll learn how to blow bubbles, jump in from the side, and move your arms and legs for basic water movement. Plus, you'll begin to float with just a little help from your teacher!
Features of the course:
- learn basic skills
- for students age 3-5
- students are independant of parents; parents may watch from designated areas on the deck
Times:
Winter Sessions: Mondays 6:00-6:30 p.m.; Six week sessions from: November 26 - January 18, January 21 - March 1, April 8 - May 17
NEW Morning Session: Includes transportation from some area daycare centers (if needed, additional fee). Instruction is a mixture of all preschool levels for 30 minutes followed by 30 minutes of free play;
Six week sessions from: Wednesdays 9:30-10:30 a.m., October 4 - November 8; Thursdays 9:30-10:30 a.m., April 5 - May 10
Level 2: Crayfish
Course Description: So, you can float with a little help, and hold your breath underwater, eh? Well, now let's see if you can add a kick to that float and try it all by yourself! Plus, you'll learn to take a breath while we swim, and begin to use out-of-water scoops to move through the water.

- for students age 3-5
- parents may watch from designated areas on the pool deck

Winter Sessions: Wednesdays 5:30-6:00 p.m.; Six week sessions: November 26 - January 18, January 21 - March 1, April 8 - May 17

Level 3: Otter
Course Description: Finally! You have all the skills it takes to do the Front Crawl. As you master this stroke, learn the basics of the Back Crawl, and learn to change directions as you swim. You'll also take to the deep, practicing specialized floats and treading water.

- move without instructor support
- for students age 3-5
- parents may watch from designated areas on the pool deck
