With so many lakes and rivers surrounding our community, it is vital that we are confident in our children's aquatic skills and knowledge. The staff at the Phillips Community Pool is dedicated to providing the instruction and education needed to ensure your peace of mind.

Because we follow the American Red Cross swimming lesson curriculum, our instructors undergo many hours of on-site training and testing to become certified as Water Safety Instructors (WSI's).

Our standard session consists of a once-weekly class for six total weeks. This provides time for parents to play an active role in their child's skill development in the days between classes. Our instructors prepare for each class extensively so that every minute is used as effectively as possible. In addition to the swimming skills, our instructors include at least one water safety topic per class, including demonstrations and activities surrounding the topic when possible.
